Trendy or Timeless

IMG_7481 Want to have the wedding to end all weddings this 2016? One that everyone will be talking about for years to come and for good reasons? It might be a good idea remember to hire a Wedding Planner to help you navigate these new trends emerging in 2016. While you are deciding if that Wedding Planner might be in the budget, here are a few things to remember as you decide if your wedding will be trendy or timeless. Both can be good, bad and happen at the same time.  So will your wedding be trendy, timeless or both?

Start by asking yourself...

Who are youIt is important to remember who you are. Not only who you are but who your love is as well. Are you trendy? Always changing and up on the latest things. Your wardrobe, hairstyle and likes change with the new trends and not only does it excite you but you own it.  Looking proudly back at the pictures of you in, what is now some ungodly outfit and hair style, with pride and found memories? Or are you more timeless? Constant in your wants, desires and looks. Perhaps drawn to the latest trends but a bit afraid to actually partake in them. If the second one is you. Your wedding may not be a good time to bust out of your comfort zone.

Where are you from? You know the saying, you can take the girl out of the country but you can't take the country out of the girl? Most of us have heard it before and laughed at thought, knowing how true it is. For better or for worse you are a product of your surroundings. What you do with it is up to you. Just because you are a country girl or a city girl does not mean you can not get married in the opposite location. A country girl adding hints of country to her city venue can be trendy and timeless.

What do you love? By now you have probably realized and can distinguish what you like  and what you love. What you like changes and what you love either does not or is much harder to change. If you love something you are willing to fight, defend or do what ever you need to protect the thing or idea you love. If you look at an idea and you like it, add it to the list and keep looking. If you look at an idea and you love it, gather it, harness it and make it your own. Looking back you will be so glad you did.

Trendy or timeless? It can be hard to decide under which category the things you like fall. Trends are always changing. With the use of filters and professional photography, it is easy to get lost and fall prey to the picture you see. The photo may be awesome, the idea alluring,  the color scheme something you have never thought of or perhaps it is a dress you have never seen before. Before you leap into action remember that things change and for some changes we are extremely thankful.  Remember stirrup pants and zubaz pants , or have we all chosen to forget because it was just that awful? In a day of originality, it is easy to get swept up in the movement to be yourself, make your mark and be different. Finding the fine line between who we are and what we will regret doing 10 years from know can be hard. You can do it. We can help.

Gwen Stefani Wore Pink: Should You?

This #fashionfriday we are talking about the pink wedding dress Gwen Stefani wore. Can we pause a moment and just take in this beautiful, trendsetting masterpiece? Gwen-Stefani-in-Christian-Dior

I will be honest and say that I mourn for my wedding days. A mere decade ago the options for dresses were not like they are today.  I will admit I missed the boat on what the latest trends were "way back when" but pink was most certainly not an option. I also missed the fact that my dress was my chance to express myself. Gwen Stefani did not miss this chance in this beautiful pink dipped ball gown designed by John Galliano. It may have been 2002 but a new trend of colorful bridal gowns emerged. Thank you Gwen Stefani for this beautiful, chic trend to follow in your steps and even put our own spin on.

If you are looking to express yourself but the idea of cloaking yourself in some brightly colored gown does not sound appealing, then keep reading. Blush might be the perfect option to your traditional white on white! Here are some gowns that we are mad about and think you should be too!
